I was selected along with a few other great photographers to take part in an article by Popular Photography (www.popphoto.com).   It’s always nice to contribute in ways I can to help the brides out there planning  their wedding.   You can read the full article here: “How To: Get Great Photos From Your Wedding“.

A couple of my images are also featured, plus one of them from Karen and Sanjay’s Acapulco destination wedding was recently selected as the Photo of the Day.

Interviewed by PDN magazine on Destination Weddings  0

Photo District News (PDN) is a well-respected magazine for professional photographers and I’ve always been a fan. I was honored recently that PDN wanted to pick my brain on destination wedding photography for their special Wedding and Events Issue. While most of the converstation and information I provided to the writer was integrated into the article rather than quoted directly, I still enjoyed sharing my knowledge and experience on destination weddings with the magazine for other professional photographers. I have been photographing destination weddings for a number of years and contrary to what some may believe, shooting a destination wedding is no holiday given the extra work and time involved. With international travel, there are also pitfalls that an inexperienced photographer may not be prepared for. While there are a few downsides from the photographer’s point of view, I still find it very rewarding to travel to various destinations around the world and help capture the special memories for each couple’s amazing wedding adventure.

If you’d like to read more about the article, look for PDN at your local magazine stands or online on PDNonline.com (registration required).

A few of our images from Erin and Jamie’s wedding in Villanova Pennsylvania will be featured as part of an editorial on unique spiritual rituals.  Jamie and Erin had an unique “tasting ceremony” for their wedding and we are happy the magazine decided to feature their unique ceremony.   If Brides Philadelphia magazine is available in your area, look for the article in the upcoming issue.

P.S. We had the exceptional pleasure working with Lynda Barness of I DO Wedding Consulting and we can’t say enough good things about her.  She is highly recommended if you are a prospective bride or groom looking for a wedding consultant.

Earlier this year the national BRIDES Magazine of Conde Nast Publications and WPJA collaborated on a wedding photojournalism contest.  Judging was done by a panel of all Pulitzer Prize winners.   One of the my images placed in the Bridal Party category.   This was an image taken during Jamie and Erin’s beautiful wedding in Villanova Pennsylvania.   We were honored Jamie and Erin gave us the opportunity to document their wedding and without them this image would’ve never been captured.
